AL AIN, 23rd April, 2025 (WAM) – H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, has witnessed the inauguration of Silal’s Innovation Oasis (iO), a research and development facility specialising in agricultural technology. iO aims to support national efforts to advance sustainable farming practices and strengthen the UAE’s food security, in line with the objectives of the National Food Security Strategy 2051.

H.H. Sheikh Hazza also witnessed the inauguration of the Advance AgriTech Academy, established to develop the UAE’s next generation of AgriTech leaders and offering specialised programmes in career guidance and practical training, in collaboration with global research institutions, to equip Emirati talent with the skills and capabilities required to drive innovation in food and agriculture.

In addition, H.H. Sheikh Hazza witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between Silal and the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) to further strengthen collaboration in advancing agricultural research and innovation, including offering five scholarships aimed at empowering students from the College of Agriculture at the UAEU in the field of agricultural sustainability and food security, in support of academic excellence and national…

Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) and Member of the Dubai Council and The Executive Council of Dubai, presented the winner’s trophy to Mirra Andreeva following the thrilling finale marking the 25th anniversary of the women’s competition at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.

The prestigious event, a key fixture on the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) 1000 calendar, was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The awards ceremony was held on the iconic Centre Court of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium, concluding an exhilarating week of world-class women’s tennis, featuring 36 of the top 40 players.

KUWAIT, 25th December, 2024 (WAM) — Kuwait defeated UAE 2–1 in the second round of the group stage of the Arabian Gulf Football Cup, “Khaleeji Zain 26”, at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium this evening here.

Kuwait nw raised their tally to 4 points, sharing the top spot in the group with Oman, who also won today against Qatar by the same score. UAE remain at 1 point, awaiting the final round to determine qualification for the semifinals.

UAE took the lead through a header by striker Caio Canedo after an excellent effort by Harib Abdullah in the 5th minute. However, the Kuwait responded with an equalizer from Mohammed Daham in the 16th minute, followed by a second goal from Muath Al-Enezi in the 89th minute.

The final round of the group stage will take place next Friday, with the UAE to face Oman at Jaber Al-Mubarak Stadium, while the Kuwait will clash with Qatar at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium.

DUBAI,25th October, 2024 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, yesterday visited the eighth edition of the ‘Dubai Active, Dubai Active Industry, and Dubai Muscle Show’ at Expo City Dubai.

Held in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, the three-day event, which is the Middle East’s leading fitness and bodybuilding exhibition, runs until 27th October. The current edition of the event is on course to be the largest in its history since it was first held seven years ago. This year’s show is set to welcome an estimated 38,000 bodybuilding and strength training enthusiasts who can look forward to a wide variety of bodybuilding competitions, fitness challenges and inspiring talks from some of the industry’s biggest personalities, including Mr Olympia champions.

As many as 400 exhibitors from 40 countries are in attendance representing the best known international brands specialising in sports equipment, nutritional supplements, fitness and bodybuilding equipment, with at least 3,000 industry specialists taking part. Organisers are expecting more than 38,000 visitors over the course of three days at the event.
